Monticello Chapter was organized June 3rd,1908, at the earnest request of Mrs. Donald McLean, who was then President General of the National. Society, Daughters of the American Revolution; and a very dear friend of Mrs. Mary C. Beach, who was the founder and organizer with twenty-six charter members. The Monticello Chapter is a small but mighty group of women who enjoy being tourists in their own hometown of Washington, DC. Our chapter’s meetings are typically held on the second Saturday of the
month from October through May. Our members enjoy touring various local attractions that they might not otherwise take the time to see, as we embrace and celebrate DAR’s mission of Historic Preservation, Education and Patriotism.
